Are you naked? Oh wait no its a nude colored dress.

So I haven't blogged in awhile because I have had the flu. For the second time, mind you. I pretty much could be flu season's poster child. Auditions?

Anyways, after my last blog about the SAG Awards it sparked an idea about nude colored gowns. Aka: ACE bandages.

Actually no I am kidding. I am not that opposed to nude colored dresses as they are making quite the appearance on the runways and red carpets. But there are some things you need to know before deciding to go streaking.

I took a poll on Twitter through moxsie's buyerchat, which is fabulous by the way (@ runs the Twitter account for Moxsie.com) and came to the conclusion that it, "Seems like the crowd approves of nude that doesn't wash you out, styled with bright accent colors."

But I don't think people really grasp the concept of what it means to be washed out so that is why I am here. As you know everyone has a different skin tone so one shade of nude to someone could look completely different on someone else. Tip: You do not match a dress to your skin tone. Why? Well, because then we don't know if you are even wearing a dress and that is just not okay.

Here is Glee's, Lea Michele at the Director's Guild Awards in a tight fitted nude gown by Herve L. Leroux. Thank God for the contrast of the red carpet otherwise I wouldn't have known a dress is what she has on. From at least the waist up the dress gets lost because it blends too much with her skin tone. Agreed?

I love everything about Carrie Underwood and I am not trying to play favorites, but c'mon she knows what she is doing. There is a clear color contrast between her skin and the dress and with the added shimmer it doesn't leave people wondering if she is wearing just her birthday suit. Hands down to you Carrie.
